Conoted User Guide
Introduction
Welcome to Conoted! This tool will help you organize your notes, connect ideas, and build a knowledge network. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to use the app.
Registration and Initial Setup
1.Registering an Account
- Visit the Conoted website or open the app.
- Enter your email.
- You will receive an automatically generated password via email.
2.Login
- Enter your email.
- Enter the password.
3.Password Recovery
- If you forgot your password, click on "Restore."
- Enter your email in the pop-up window.
- You will receive a link to the site where you can set a new password.
4.Initial Setup
- Click on the profile icon in the upper right corner to go to settings and contact management.
- Fill out your profile, upload a photo, enter your name and nickrname, and click "Save."
- Go to Notifications and set them up as you prefer (instructions for setting up notifications are in another section).
Creating and managing notes
1. Create and edit a note
- Click on the "Create Note" or the big + button
- Enter a title and main text of the note, make a list, add a picture, links, etc. (if there is no title or it is too long, sometimes the note is not saved).
- Public Note. The default note is an individual note. If you click on the Lock icon, the icon will turn into a Globe icon and the note will become Public and will be visible to all users of the application.
- Click on the Save button - this is the Floppy Diskette icon - this will take your note to the Add Tags section.
The note is saved at any stage. You can save a note without tags, links, etc., simply by going to the Home page (notes feed) after clicking on the Diskette.
- Editing a note
Editing notes in Conoted allows you to update and clarify information, as well as add new ideas and links. To edit a note, follow these steps:
- Open the note you want to edit by clicking on it in your notes list.
- Make any necessary changes to the text of the note.
- Sharing a note. You can share the note with any user of the application or on social networks/messengers.
- Update tags and links if necessary.
#### Basic editing functions
Editing notes in Conoted includes various tools for formatting and enhancing text. Here is a complete list of features available when editing notes:
- Font:
- Font size
- Lists: Marked Lists: Use to create lists with markers. Numbered Lists: Use to create ordered lists with numbers. To-Do lists
- Inverted commas: Add quotations or highlight important phrases in text using inverted commas.
- Links: Insert hyperlinks in your text to refer to external resources or other notes.
- Text Search: Use the search function to find specific words or phrases in your note.
- Automatic tag generation. Conoted recommends a list of tags based on your text. Add tags that describe the main topic of the note.
- Self-add tags. You can search text search and add an old tag, or create and add a new one.
- Click on the "Save" button - this is the Floppy Disk icon - - this will take your note to the linking to other notes section
- Linking notes
- Automatically generate links between notes. After creating a note, Conoted will suggest other notes based on your text and tags - Add other notes if you think they are related in some way.
- Public notes and collective intelligence. Conoted will also show you public notes left in the database by other authors. These notes will match the topic of your note. (The authors have agreed that you can add their notes to your notes). You can merge them with your notes.
- Self linking notes. You can find via text search and add any notes from your database
- Click on the "Save" button - that's the Floppy Disk icon - then your note will be taken to the linking with other users section
- Sharing, linking and discussing notes with other users
- Automatically generate contacts. Share your notes with other users. Link notes with other users.
- Self link notes and users. You can find via text search and add users to show him your note. (When you delete a note - in another user it is also deleted)
- Click on the "Save" button - this is the Diskette icon - the note will be saved and you will be taken to the Home page.
If the user is not in the Conoted app, you will first need to invite them to download the app. This can be done via contacts by giving prior permission to access your phone's Contacts.
On the homepage of the Conoted app, you'll find several useful features to help you easily manage your notes and contacts.
- Switch to messages from other users
At the top of the screen (the header), you can find a button in the form of messages. This button allows you to switch to messages and notes from other users. This will help you see what the community is sharing and integrate useful ideas into your system.
When you click on users on a post, you can see all the users who are attached to that post. You can see any user's profile by clicking on them.
### Text search and tag search
On the app's header, next to the posts tab is a search bar. You can use text search to quickly find the notes you need. Tag search is also available, making it easy to find notes by tags.
Home Page (Feed)
The following items are displayed on the home page of the Conoted application:
Notes feed: Your feed consists of notes that you have created or that have been linked to you by other users.
Options for interacting with notes:
- Make a note public/private: You can make any of your notes public so that other users can see and interact with them. To do this, click on the note and select the Make Public option by clicking on the Castle icon. To return the note to private status, select "Make private is by clicking on the Globe icon".
- Edit a note: To edit a note, click on it and select the "Edit" option. Make the necessary changes and save it.
- Delete Note: If you want to delete a note, click on it and select "Delete". Confirm the action to remove the note from your feed.
Notes-Messages page
The following functions are available on the notes-messages page:
- Reply to a note: You can reply to a note by creating a new one. Click on the note and select "Reply". Your reply will be created as a new note linked to the original note.
- Unlink a note: If you want to remove a note from your feed, but the note is not removed from other users, select the "Unlink" option. The note will remain with its original author and the other users who added it.
- Share a note: You can share the note on the app, social media or messengers. To do so, tap on the note and select "Share". Select the desired method and send the link.
- Like a note: You can express your approval of the note by clicking on the "Like" icon. Likes help to highlight the most useful and interesting notes.
When you tap on the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen, you will be taken to the settings and contact management section.
In this section, you can see a list of all the users you have invited to the app. This allows you to keep track of which of your colleagues and friends have already joined you in Conoted. With each user, you can view it:
- Public Notes
- A list of ranked tags (topics the user is knowledgeable in)
- In your contacts, click on the + button
- You will be taken to your Phonebook
- In the text search for contacts, enter the user's name.
- In the results list, select the user you want to send a request to.
- Select a contact and enter that contact's Email - click Submit, an invitation to join Conoted will be sent to their email account
You can only add one contact at a time at this time
3. Text search for contacts by tags
Conoted provides the ability to search for contacts by tags. This will help you find experts and users who are interested in the same topics as you. Type the desired tag in the search bar and the app will show you relevant users.
You can't write a message to a user directly. You have to add it through a Note. Or send him/her a Note via note sharing
You can send requests for other users to join your contacts. In this section, you will see all the contacts to whom you sent the request. This will allow you to expand your network and find people with similar interests and goals
5. Join Requests from other users (Requests)
In this section, you can see all the join requests from other users who want to add you to their contacts. You can accept or decline these requests depending on your preferences
6. User Blacklist
If you come across users you don't want in your contacts, you can add them to your blacklist. This will prevent them from receiving notes, joining you to his notes, receiving messages and add requests from these users
7. Customizing notifications
In Conoted, you can set up notifications to keep you up to date with all the important events and activity of your contacts. Here's what the different notification settings mean
- Allow notification: Enabling this setting will allow the app to send you notifications about new notes, requests to be added to your contacts, and other events.
- Via email: Select this setting if you want to receive notifications to your email address.
- Via push notification: Select this option if you want to receive notifications directly to your device as push notifications.
- Only from contacts: Enabling this setting will only allow you to receive notifications from users who are in your contacts, excluding notifications from users you don't know.
8. How to change your password in the app
If you want to change your password in Conoted, follow these steps:
- Go to your profile by tapping the profile icon in the top right corner of your screen.
- Locate the "Change Password" option.
- Enter your current password to confirm it.
- Enter your new password and confirm it.
- Click the "Save" button
9. Deleting an account
Deleting an account in Conoted is an irreversible process. Here's what happens when you delete your account:
Deletion of all notes:
All of your notes will be deleted from the system. This includes both personal notes and notes that you have associated with other users.
- Deleting all contacts:
- All of your contacts will be deleted and you will no longer be able to interact with them through Conoted.
- Deleting all data:
- All of your data, including tags, links, and settings will be completely deleted from the system.
- Irreversibility:
- Once your account has been deleted, it will be impossible to restore it or get your data back. Make sure you really want to delete the account before confirming the action.
How to delete an account
- Go to your profile by clicking on the icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Find the "Delete Account" option and click on it.
- Confirm the action
Using the social graph
- - Use the social graph to find experts and build collaborations.
- - The system automatically ranks contacts based on their relevance to your notes.
